2023 Petite Sirah

The 2023 Petite Sirah has aromas of Blackberry, cassis, black tea, and roasted vanilla. The entry is rich, silky, and layered with flavors of blueberries, cardamom, cinnamon, and currants. The mouth-coating mid-palate leads into a soft, weighted finish nuanced by toasted oak.

Harvest Date: 10/1/2023

Fermentation: A 5-day cold soak followed by a hot fermentation during the first 6 days of primary. Pump overs 2-3 times daily until temperatures were cooled down around day 7. Fermentation took place in stainless steel closed top tanks.

Aging: Aged 16 months in French oak barrels, 60% of which were new.

Pairing Suggestions: Pair with hearty stews, rib-eye, roasted meats, reduction sauces, and cold evenings.
