| Winemaker’s Notes: |
Our 2005 Estate Syrah displays all the attributes that have made this Northern Rhône Valley variety so popular in California. Smoky dark plum and cassis aromas are joined by roasted coffee, rich mocha and spicy licorice scents in the seductive, complex nose. On the palate, the wine's lush, mouthfilling, black fruit flavors are enhanced by a savory roasted spice tone while crisp underlying acidity lends brightness and zest. The perfect red to accompany smoky barbecue and grilled fare, this succulent Syrah will develop even greater aromatic and flavor complexity with another 3-5 years of bottle aging.
