Fresh Greenery and Fresh Plans

Basil!

Basil!

There are weeks when it becomes clearly evident just how fast the conceptual Halter Ranch train is moving. This is one such week.  The happenings are as follows.

Monday May 5 marked the planting of our 2014 organic staff garden and saw multiple varieties of tomato, basil, squash, and pepper placed in the ground with dreams of delicious Summer bounty.

We’ve also just broken ground on a new tasting room just east of the primary winery building.  It’s projected completion is just prior to WineFest 2015.  It will be a modular space capable of accommodating both busy Saturday tasting room traffic and milder midweek traffic comfortably.  Aesthetically it will match the winery. It is unlikely if not impossible to convey our excitement as this project moves forward.  Also, for you fans of the current tasting room, fear not!  It will remain active, as will the rest of the historic side of the property, as a small country store or potentially a visitor center, we will keep you updated as the precise plan pans out.

Suzanne Tracht of Jar restaurant in Los Angeles will be the guest chef at this year’s sold out Bridge Dinner.  If you have not yet experienced her cuisine we’d highly recommend a trip down to the City of Angels.  The experience will be well worth your time.

The new wine club lounge will be open during Wine Festival 2014 and we’d highly recommend reservations (805.226.9455 or jordan@halterranch.com) to assure yourselves space.  Delectible Fair Oaks sausage sliders prepared by Killer Eatz will be available both in the lounge and the main tasting room for Wine Fest.

We will also be pouring at the El Colibri Hotel in Cambria this coming Saturday evening from 6 to 9 pm.

The final bit of news for the moments is that we will begin offering full vineyard tours soon for groups up to 9 people to take place in the new Defender pictured below.  As always thank you for reading and check back next week for an article on our latest Reserve Label release and how to gain access to it.  Cheers til then!
