Solene Christophe

Born in the city of Bordeaux, Solène spent her childhood in Bourg sur Gironde, a small village north west of Bordeaux where her family still resides. In 2001 she enrolled at the University of Bordeaux, in Spanish Literature and Civilization. Solène is fluent in Spanish and English in addition to her native French.

A major shift occurred in Solène’s life when her fiancé, a French winegrower/winemaker, decided to accept an internship in Paso Robles. He returned home with a dream to move to California and make wine here. It took one year to get the papers and they were able to settle in Paso Robles.

Solène joined the Halter Ranch team in 2007. A teacher by training, she still teaches English to the farm workers on the ranch and tutors others in French and Spanish. But her interest is moving away from teaching to the wine business. “ I prefer to work with Wine Club, Sales, Marketing, and Administration. Instead of teaching I am learning! The work is very diverse and I love it.”

If you ask Solène to describe Halter Ranch, she believes it is a sphere of spiritual, mental and physical endeavors. “This ranch consists of dreams, hopes, actual buildings and cultivated land; winegrowing, winemaking and the hard work involved in selling. It’s a concentrated, multi-faceted effort and I believe everyone on the team understands it. I like being part of Halter Ranch.”
